Dinner Time's subject matter looks at violence against women. It depicts a table set up for dinner, however, dinner was late, which causes a scenario of violence. The side tables show "bloody" food being prepared and "bruised" roses. The placemats are stitched with thoughts from the victim, blaming herself rather than her abuser.
In many cultures roses represent love, these bruised roses represents the abusive love that the abuser gives to the victim.
This installation is created from multiple objects that are; wrapped or stitched in a yellow string, covered in latex and or white gorse, broken and glued back together.
